“Blue Christmas” Advent Service of Hope – Wed., Dec. 14 at 7 pm
This can be a difficult season as well as a festive one. Advent and Christmas bring to mind all those we have loved and lost over the years. In this service of healing and hope, we will remember those we have lost with trust in God’s comfort and mercy.
Advent and Christmas Missions Opportunities
If you are looking for way to be generous this Christmas season, consider donating gifts to the Giving Cradle (for Pregnancy Care Center – see Priscilla Smith for details) and money to Angel Tree (for Prison Fellowship – see Anne Smith for details). These are great ways to support fathers, mothers, and children. May our celebration of the Holy Family of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus encourage us to support families in our midst.

Monthly Scripture Memory for November
Philippians 4:6-8 (ESV) – 6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. 8 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Weekly Catechism
Catechism: Outline of the Faith
Q. What are we by nature?
A. We are part of God’s creation, made in the image of God.
Q. What does it mean to be created in the image of God?
A. It means that we are free to make choices: to love, to create, to reason, and to live in harmony with creation and with God.
Q. Why then do we live apart from God and out of harmony with creation?
A. From the beginning, human beings have misused their freedom and made wrong choices.
