Monthly Scripture Memory for May

Ephesians 2:8-10 (ESV) – 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. 10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

Catechism: An Outline of the Faith

What are we by nature?  We are part of God’s creation, made in the image of God.

What does it mean to be created in the image of God?  It means that we are free to make choices: to love, to create, to reason, and to live in harmony with creation and with God.

Why then do we live apart from God and out of harmony with creation?  From the beginning, human beings have misused their freedom and made wrong choices.
