Thank you for posting this video. Wintley inspires me with his powerful voice. It was so interesting to learn something new about the black spirituals which are built around the “five black notes”…I had never heard that before!

You’re very welcome. It’s fascinating, isn’t it, that John Newton would have used a slave melody to accompany his words. It really adds another whole dimension to the song.
